My Projects

Here are some of the projects I have had the pleasure to work on and develop my skills! These projects were developed in an Agile environment with test driven development and of course, clean code!
This portfolio contains a mobile nav menu, try resizing down to mobile to use it!

Welp

We built a Node MVC application, bootstrapped using the Express generator, and using Handlebars as a templating engine. Users could interact with our site to browse reviews, tags and categories with the ability to create all three respectively. You could also leave your comments on a review and rate them using a thumb-up/thumb-down rating system.

Muzify

We built a RESTful API using Node and Express. We used a NoSQL database to house our data with paths to create, read, update and delete all entities. We built a Single Page Application (SPA) using Vanilla JavaScript to interact with our API. Our application let users browse music by songs, albums and artists. Browsing a single song, users could listen to music directly in our application!

Date Night Shuffle

We built a Single Page Application, bootstrapped using Create React app. We built a RESTful API with Node and Express, interacting with a NoSQL database. The goal of this application is to create an engaging application to help users discover new resturaunts in their location. They can view estalishments by first selecting an area, then filter those by price for a more tailored experience. If you're feeling lucky, there is an option to get a totally random estalishment in a general area!

Brief Introduction

I attended The Ohio State University before I made the commitment to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. I served four years on active duty with 1st Batallion 7th Marines - Baker Company. Near the end of my service I had been promoted to E-5 (Sergeant) and decided to advance in another direction. Then I found JavaScript and the rest is history
My current goal is to continue to improve my language proficiency and dig deeper into the frameworks, other languages and design patterns out there!
